This certificate program prepares pharmacists with the essentials of clinical management for patients with cardiovascular disease. The robust online environment allows for anytime and anywhere learning while providing a strong knowledge base in disease pathology, clinical manifestation, and the most current clinical guidelines for care. Learning Objectives
At the completion of this certificate program the leaner should be able to:
  1. Interpret clinical laboratory measures, and evaluate and manage cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and tobacco cessation regimens;
  2. Identify, evaluate, and communicate to the patient or health-care provider, the appropriateness aof the patient's specific pharmacotherapeutic agents, dosing regimens, dosage forms, routes of administration, and delivery systems;
  3. Monitor clinical laboratory values, assess adherence, provide patient education, and collaborate with other health care professionals;
  4. Manage chronic disease regimens including hypertension, dyslipidemia, tobacco cessation and post-MI and post-stent patients; through application of guidelines and universal therapy recommendations; and
  5. Educate patients on the key factors that influence cardiovascular disease, management and behavioral health, including diet and wellness.
