Treating Opioid Use Disorder with Buprenorphine /Naloxone (Online)

Opioid Use Disorders are a growing problem in the U.S. The unique knowledge, skills, and responsibilities pharmacists possess are critical to opioid abuse prevention, education, and treatment. Treating Opioid Use Disorder with Buprenorphine/Naloxone (Online) (KE-CN#PAIN104) will detail the pharmacology of buprenorphine, its role in addiction management, and various treatment options pharmacists can provide. Pharmacists who complete this training will have the knowledge and resources needed to develop a treatment, evaluation, and education plan for patients with opioid use disorders.

  • Buprenorphine/Naloxone Nonmedical Use and Diversion: The Role of the Pharmacist (KE-CN#PAIN105)


Learning Objectives:
  1. Describe unique pharmacology of buprenorphine and its role in addiction management;
  2. Identify the signs and symptoms associated with opioid use disorders;
  3. Provide treatment recommendations for patients diagnosed with opioid use disorders;
  4. Provide adherence education;
  5. Devise strategies to reduce stigma of working with this patient population by cultivating personal connections; and
  6. Given a patient case, develop an evaluation, treatment and education plan.
